Lisa & Ben’s Beautiful Wedding at Forbes of Kingennie
Lisa and Ben’s summer wedding at Forbes of Kingennie, near Dundee, had everything: laughter, emotion, and even a dramatic Scottish downpour. Nothing could take away from how full of love and joy their day was.
Having photographed weddings at Forbes of Kingennie several times, I always love returning to this venue. It’s surrounded by woodland, rolling hills, and peaceful lochside views, a perfect mix for relaxed, storytelling wedding photography. And as a local Dundee and Angus wedding photographer, I know how to make the most of this venue in every kind of light and weather. You can see more of my work in my portfolio.

Getting Ready at the Lodge
Lisa spent the morning at one of the resort’s lodge suites, accompanied by her bridesmaid. The room featured large windows that flooded the space with natural light, making it ideal for capturing calm, genuine moments before the ceremony. Meanwhile, Ben arrived with his two best men and opted for just a few natural arrival shots - relaxed and authentic, no fuss. I captured easy-going smiles and genuine reactions as the day began.

I always tailor my coverage to your day - you can see more details about my wedding packages here.
Indoor Ceremony with Family, Friends & Their Dog
The ceremony took place inside the Buddon Burn Suite at Forbes of Kingennie, a space with expansive windows and views across the estate. It was personal and heartfelt, with Lisa and Ben’s dog joining them for the occasion - a small touch that made the moment even more special.
Their relaxed personalities set the tone for the entire day. Everyone smiled, laughed, and you could feel the love in the room as they exchanged vows.

Confetti, Family Photos and Rain Showers
Just after the ceremony, we stepped outside for a few quick family photos and a confetti shot. The sky had turned, and the first drops of rain began to fall - a thunderstorm alert had been sitting over Dundee all day, and soon it arrived in full force. We finished the portraits indoors, moving to the reception room to keep everyone comfortable and dry. Despite the dramatic weather, Lisa and Ben stayed completely relaxed and smiling throughout - proof that a bit of Scottish rain never stops the fun.

Couple Portraits at Forbes of Kingennie
After the meal, the rain finally eased, and the light outside turned soft and beautiful. We took a short walk around the grounds, from the lochside path to the woodland edges and then to the elegant boathouse overlooking the water. Those quiet moments together gave them a chance to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and soak in the day. The subtle post-rain light, reflections on the water, and calm atmosphere made it a perfect opportunity for some atmospheric photos.

Evening: Cake Cutting, First Dance & Band Celebration
Back inside, Lisa and Ben cut their cake and enjoyed their first dance together, surrounded by friends and family celebrating their day. The live band then got everyone on the dance floor, moving and enjoying the evening. Guests laughed, danced, and joined in the music, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere that perfectly reflected the relaxed and fun vibe of the wedding.
For me, that’s what wedding photography is all about: capturing real energy, genuine connections, and moments that couples will cherish forever.
