Peebles Hydro Wedding Photographer - A Scottish Borders Wedding to Remember

Updated: 6 days ago

Daisy and Kris’s wedding at Peebles Hydro in the Scottish Borders was one of those days that just feels effortless. From the early morning excitement as they got ready, to the touching ceremony and relaxed, joyful moments with friends and family, the whole day had such a warm, genuine energy. As a Peebles Hydro wedding photographer, I loved capturing the little interactions, quiet glances, and laughter that made their wedding uniquely theirs. The venue’s stunning views and light-filled spaces gave the perfect backdrop for natural, candid photography that tells the story of their day.

Getting Ready with Breathtaking Views

The day began with Daisy and her bridesmaids preparing in a bright, spacious room at Peebles Hydro. The large balcony offered breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, which made capturing the excitement and anticipation of the morning an absolute joy. Everyone was buzzing with energy - a mix of nerves, laughter, and anticipation for what’s to come.

What stood out to me was how involved the bridal party was. They were doing everything they could to make the day run smoothly and ensure Daisy and Kris could simply enjoy the moment.

It’s always these little gestures, the helping hands, and the shared laughter that create the photos

I love most.

Peebles Hydro Wedding Photographer: Capturing Ceremony and Couple Portraits

Daisy and Kris exchanged vows in one of Peebles Hydro’s beautiful, light-filled rooms. One of the most touching moments was Daisy walking in with her son to meet Kris: the emotion in that moment was incredible. As a Scottish Border wedding photographer, I aim to capture these genuine reactions is at the heart of my approach: the smiles, the tears, and those quiet exchanges that speak louder than words.

After the ceremony, we took a little time to explore the grounds for portraits. The rolling hills, lush gardens, and elegant architecture gave us so many beautiful spots for relaxed, natural photos.

I especially loved the shots on the grand staircase, which highlighted both the couple’s connection and the venue’s character, as well as some peaceful moments on the balcony overlooking the Scottish countryside. Every corner of Peebles Hydro offers something unique for a photographer to work with, and these areas really helped tell Daisy and Kris’s story.

Laughter, Toasts, and Joyful Celebrations

The speeches were a highlight of the day, full of beautiful stories, laughter, and a few happy tears.

You could see just how much Daisy and Kris are loved by their family and friends, and the atmosphere was warm and full of joy.

Throughout the day, candid moments continued to unfold naturally: little shared glances, laughter between the couple, and hugs from loved ones. Their first dance was another emotional highlight, with everyone gathering around to celebrate. Being able to capture all of these genuine, unscripted moments is exactly why I love photographing weddings - it’s about telling the story of the day as it really happened.
