Kiera and Gordon’s December wedding at The Cow Shed Crail had everything I love about winter celebrations: the dramatic weather, the cosy indoor moments, and the atmosphere that only a stormy Scottish day can bring. The wind roared outside while inside, the barn was full of laughter, music, and genuine emotion.
As a The Cow Shed Crail wedding photographer, I couldn’t have imagined a better way to end my 2024 season: capturing the energy, warmth, and togetherness that made this day so special.
Documenting Kiera & Gordon’s Wedding Day
We began the day in the historic town of St Andrews, at Fairmont Hotel, with Kiera getting ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, their excitement building as they caught that first glimpse of her in her dress. The reactions were heartfelt and natural - exactly the kind of moment I love to capture.
After preparations, we travelled to The Cow Shed Crail, where the ceremony was set in the beautifully decorated barn with festive Christmas trees adding warmth and charm. Their ceremony was truly beautiful and full of emotion, with heartfelt vows and joyful confetti bringing a magical touch to the celebration. Every detail reflected Kiera and Gordon’s personalities from the décor to the laughter, happy tears, and intimate moments shared with their family and friends.
During the portraits, we embraced the winter light and the gusty storm winds sweeping across the venue grounds. Despite the stormy weather, we managed to capture stunning outdoor photos, with Kiera and Gordon laughing and holding each other against the wind, creating dynamic and lively images that perfectly complemented the cozy indoor moments.
