Kinclune House & Estate is one of the newest wedding venues in Angus, located in the countryside near Kirriemuir. As wedding photographers based in Angus, we recently returned to Kinclune to photograph styled shoot and create images that show couples how a wedding day here could look.

The goal of the shoot was simple - to use different spaces around the venue and give couples a realistic idea of how a wedding might feel at Kinclune, from getting ready in the house to celebrating later in the barn.
Because Kinclune is still a relatively new wedding venue in Angus, many couples haven’t yet had the chance to see how weddings there can look. This shoot was designed to give a glimpse of what a full wedding day at the estate could feel like. Even though it was still technically winter, the day was bright and unexpectedly warm for February. The daylight coming through the windows made the indoor spaces feel calm and relaxed, which worked beautifully for portraits.

Indoor Ceremony & Reception Spaces
Kinclune House & Estate is a private countryside venue near Kirriemuir in Angus, with beautiful indoor spaces that make photographing a wedding straightforward and enjoyable. The estate centres around the 19th-century Kinclune House and a restored courtyard steading, so couples can move naturally from getting ready to the ceremony, drinks, and evening celebrations — all in one connected area.
The main wedding spaces include the Party Barn, with a vaulted ceiling and room for around 120 guests, and the Arches, a bright indoor ceremony space within the steading. There’s also an enclosed Courtyard perfect for drinks and socialising. Even in February, the rooms are full of natural light, cosy corners, and archways that make portraits and candid moments easy to capture. Couples often ask how photography works indoors, and Kinclune offers plenty of spots to capture both posed and natural moments without relying heavily on artificial light.

Portrait Locations
While the focus is mostly on the indoor spaces, Kinclune has lovely areas around the house for portraits. Stonework, courtyards, and the immediate surroundings provide simple yet elegant backdrops that feel connected to the venue. Even in winter, there are light-filled spaces that make couples’ portraits feel natural and personal.
Our photography style is mostly candid and documentary. On real wedding days, we focus on genuine interactions — conversations, laughter, and reactions during speeches — while also showing how different areas of the venue can work for photographs.
